Most students study Ketu only for separation, moksha, confusion, sudden break, past life and detachment. But in Nadi reading, especially when we combine Bhrigu Nadi with Agastya Nadi style karmic sequencing, Ketu becomes much more interesting. Ketu often shows a behaviour which the person repeats without fully knowing why. This is the real mystery of Ketu. Rahu wants something because it has not tasted it enough. Ketu often behaves as if it has already tasted that area too much. So the native may react with disinterest, withdrawal, unusual expertise, irritation, rejection, fear, or complete emotional cut-off. The behaviour can look irrational in present life, but astrologically it may show a field where memory is deeper than conscious memory. Suppose Ketu is linked with Mercury. Do not stop at “communication problem.” Watch the behaviour. The person may know something but refuse to explain it. He may answer in one line where ten lines are required. He may suddenly cut communication, dislike repeated questions, or remain silent exactly when others expect explanation. This is not always weakness of Mercury. Ketu can make Mercury behave as if the mind has already processed the subject and does not want to revisit it. Ketu with Venus can give another pattern. The person may attract relationships, beauty, comfort or luxury, but emotionally remain slightly outside the experience. He can enjoy and reject at the same time. One part says, “I want this.” Another part says, “I have already seen enough of this.” So relationship behaviour can become difficult to understand unless we see which house, sign and planetary chain Venus and Ketu are carrying. Ketu with Mars can create very sharp behaviour. Some people become fearless in situations where normal people become nervous. Others suddenly lose interest in competition after reaching a certain level. Some react instantly and later cannot explain why they reacted so strongly. Mars gives action; Ketu removes the normal mental bridge between stimulus and action. That is why this combination needs careful judgement. Now take Ketu with Saturn. This can become a deep karmic pattern of withdrawal from responsibility, or exactly the opposite — carrying responsibility with almost no emotional involvement. The native may do duty because “it has to be done,” but internally there is dryness. In another chart, Ketu can cut Saturn’s continuity and create strange stop-start patterns in work, discipline, profession or long-term commitments. Ketu with Moon is even more subtle because Moon is our immediate response system. Here the native may emotionally disconnect very fast. A person may love deeply, but once something crosses an invisible line, the emotional switch goes off. Others around him may say, “How can you become so detached suddenly?” But from inside, the person may feel, “I was finished long ago.” This is where Bhrigu Nadi becomes useful. Do not read Ketu alone. See the planet before Ketu, the planet linked with Ketu, the house involved, the sign lord, and the next planetary connection in the chain. Ketu behaves like a karmic junction. It can cut one pattern, carry another pattern forward, and expose a behaviour that does not belong only to the present moment. And Agastya Nadi thinking adds another important point: behaviour itself can become a clue to unfinished karma. Sometimes the event has not yet happened, but the behaviour has already started showing the karmic direction. The person keeps repeating the same response in relationships, money, profession, family, spirituality, speech or conflict. That repetition is often more revealing than one isolated event. So when a client says, “I don’t know why I always do this,” do not ignore that sentence. For a Nadi astrologer, that line is gold. Ketu may be speaking through the behaviour before it speaks through the event. Now I want Jyotish students to test this. Look at your own Ketu. See the sign, house, conjunctions, dispositor and planetary linkage. Then ask yourself one uncomfortable question: What behaviour do I repeat again and again, even when I know it creates the same result?
