How Guruji Uncovered Generational Karma through Silence and Smoke
It was a grey morning. A distant relative of one of Guruji’s long-time disciples had passed away. As a gesture of respect, Guruji and I attended the cremation.
The atmosphere was still, yet heavy. The body was placed on the pyre. Prayers were being chanted. But something strange happened.
The flame wouldn’t rise. Three times the fire was lit. Three times it went out. People looked confused. Some whispered that it was a bad omen.
Guruji stood there calmly, unmoved. After a moment, he whispered to me,
“Watch carefully. You are about to see Bhrigu Yoga in action.”
Guruji’s Insight into Bhrigu Yoga and Ancestral Karma
Later, as we walked back through the muddy village path, I asked him, “What happened? Why did the fire not catch?” He said,
“Because the karma of that man’s ancestors was still waiting for acknowledgment. One Bhrigu Yoga was unfulfilled.”
He opened the man’s chart (he had taken the details from the family).
He pointed:
Jupiter and Mercury together in 9th house
Ketu in 5th
Saturn aspecting the 9th and 3rd
Guruji explained, “This is a Bhrigu Yoga of silenced ancestors. 9th house is Pitru. Jupiter is wisdom, Mercury is voice. Ketu in 5th shows separation from children. And Saturn’s aspect says — ‘Delay in resolution.”
He paused and said something I will never forget:
“When family karma is stuck — even fire resists.”
The Real Meaning of Bhrigu Yoga
Guruji told me, “Bhrigu Yogas are not always wealth or fame. Some are karmic locks. When certain combinations appear, they show that someone in the family line had unfulfilled responsibilities — especially toward knowledge, speech, or dharma — and it affects the descendants silently.”
“Sometimes,” he added, “a soul leaves the world, but a part of it remains unsettled, because it hasn’t been seen.”
The Remedy Guruji Suggested to the Family
He quietly told the eldest son:
“Every Amavasya for 6 months, do Deep Daan near a Peepal tree — one lamp for each male ancestor you remember. And one for those forgotten. Also, donate a book in your father’s name to a poor student.”
“No mantra?” they asked.
Guruji said, “Pitru don’t need mantras. They need memory. They need your offering of attention, not performance.”
Three months later, I heard that their family disputes over property had calmed. Two brothers who hadn’t spoken in 10 years sat down together for tea. Without reason. Just like that.
Lesson for Students:
When you see Jupiter-Mercury in 9th, Saturn aspects, or Ketu in 5th,
Ask about the voice of the ancestors.
Ask what was left unsaid, unwritten, undone.
Because Bhrigu didn’t write horoscopes — he wrote memories.
And when you decode those memories, healing begins.
