Every time I visit Rishikesh, I stay in only 2-3 places. Not hotels.
Only ashrams – peaceful, divine, close to Ganga.
These ashrams are not just places to stay… they feel like home to me now. Over the years, I have developed a deep personal and emotional attachment with the sadhus and sannyasis who live there. We may not talk every day, but they always bless me like family.
This story is from one such visit… and I feel every true student of Jyotish should read it.
It was my second day in Rishikesh. I was staying at one of my favorite ashrams, just walking distance from the Ganga. That morning, Maharaj Ji, the respected head of the ashram, called me with a smile.
He said,
“Vinayak ji, ek sadhu aaye hain Badrinath jaane ke raaste mein… par woh 2-3 din yahan ruk rahe hain. Aap dono ka milna zaroori hai.”
He then introduced me to a humble-looking sadhu, wearing simple clothes, no ego in his eyes — but his presence was powerful. Maharaj ji softly added,
“Aap dhyan sadhak hain, aur yeh sadhu bhi Dhyan sikhate the apne shishyon ko… aap dono baitho.”
We both smiled and greeted each other with folded hands.
As we sat under tree inside the ashram courtyard, our conversation started slowly — mostly about silence, meditation, and the beauty of Rishikesh.
But suddenly, the sadhu looked at me deeply and said something that shook me:
“Tumhare chart mein Budh tumhe sab kuch de raha hai… par mann mein hamesha kuch adhoora lagega.”
I didn’t even tell him I was an astrologer! But he went on…
Then started a flow of powerful Mercury (Budh) techniques – shared like a master to a student:
- Mercury is the Thought That Keeps Coming Back — Lifetime After Lifetime
He said,
“People don’t understand Budh. It is not about memory… it is the leftover karma of thought patterns. Where Mercury sits, there your mind keeps going again and again — even if you don’t want.”
If Mercury is in 6th, 8th or 12th, he said, person keeps thinking about what went wrong in life. They can’t forgive themselves easily.
- Mercury with Ketu – The Silent Gyan. Mercury with Rahu – The Noisy Gyan
“When Budh joins Ketu, people know deep truths but can’t express it. When it joins Rahu, they can talk very well, but it’s mostly borrowed knowledge.”
He said,
One knows the ocean but is silent. The other talks about the ocean but hasn’t even touched water.
- Mercury in Karma Houses – Words Become Destiny
“If Budh is in 2nd, 4th or 10th house,” he said, “your speech becomes your karma. You say something, and universe starts moving.”
He advised:
“Such people should be extremely careful in choosing words. One wrong sentence can change their fate.”
- Budh-Aditya Yoga – Not All Are Real Buddhiwans
He smiled and said,
“People with Sun + Mercury combo think they’re very wise… but only those with real antar-drishti can use it properly.”
He said if this yoga is in 3rd or 5th, person becomes a good communicator or teacher. But in 6th, 8th, or 12th, they doubt themselves too much — and miss many opportunities.
After this deep session, I was silent for a while. I finally asked him,
“Baba, have you learned Jyotish from any Guru?”
He just smiled and said,
“Main pehle Chemistry ka professor tha Pune University mein… par ab main sirf ‘Rasayan’ ki asli sadhana karta hoon.”
I couldn’t believe it.
A Chemistry professor, who left everything — lab, lectures, city life — and now walked with a group of sadhus towards Badrinath, teaching meditation and karma decoding through Jyotish to selected few.
That meeting stayed with me.
No mobile number. No social media.
Only one sadhu, one message, and Mercury’s magic.
Since then, whenever I look at Mercury in any horoscope, I remember his words:
“Budh is not just intellect. It is the echo of your karmic memory. Fix your Mercury, and your inner conversation will heal.”
Dear students, if you’re serious about Jyotish, don’t just look at Budh as a planet. Look at it as your inner voice — always whispering your past and preparing your future.
If this story touched your heart, share it.
And if you also had such divine moments in your life, I would love to hear them in comments.
Let’s keep real Jyotish + Sadhana alive.
Jai Guru Dev,
Vinayak Bhatt
